Tim began his career with Wolverhampton Wanderers in 1984 and d
uring his playing career made over 520 League appearances.
Tim was a strong, agile keeper. He signed for Southampton as a 19 year old in 1986 and stayed until 1993 making 192 appearances. He then joined Kenny Dalgleish's Blackburn Rovers for £2.4million, making him the most expensive goalkeeper in England at the time.
He went on to make 175 appearances for the club and winning a Premiership winner's medal in 1995.
Following Rovers' relegation in 1999, Tim moved to Leicester City for £1.1million, winning a League Cup medal in 2000.
His 5 year spell at Leicester included loan moves to Stockport County, Manchester City and Coventry City. He won 11 England caps between 1994 and 1998 and was in the squads for both Euro 96 in England and the 1998 World Cup in France. He retired following the 2002-03 season.
Following a spell as goalkeeping coach with both Leicester City and Manchester City he was appointed Assistant Manager to Ian Dowie at Coventry City in February 2007. He followed Dowie to QPR and then Hull City in a similar role.
More recently he has been with Northampton Town and Kidderminster Harriers as a goalkeeping coach.
He was appointed Manager with Rangers on 14th October 2010.
